Arizona Lemon Law Repairs

When you first suspect you might be able to use the AZ Lemon Law, it is time to start a very detailed repair file. Enlist the help of your mechanic. Make copies of everything, and have the mechanic provide detailed explanations of any terms that seem ambiguous – or might seem ambiguous in a court of law. There are time limits to which you must adhere. All your Arizona Lemon Law repairs must be completed within the time limits as described in the Arizona Lemon Law statues, and you also must have the minimum number of repairs completed before the cut-off date as spelled out in the AZ Lemon Law statutes.

It is best to use the same mechanic throughout the process, and use a certified mechanic who has completed the training programs specific to your make and model.  On the second repair for the same problem, have the dealer do a recall search on your behalf.  It is far better to get a free recall repair done than start down the road to a lemon law lawsuit.  But do not hesitate to escalate to a lawsuit if the car is not repaired after two attempts.  It is your right to use these lemon law statutes – these are in place for consumer protection and are more specific and consumer-friendly than normal consumer protection legislation.

After the second repair has failed and a search for a recall turns up nothing, immediately make the appointment for the third repair. Then get your paperwork in order and start interviewing lemon law attorneys over the phone.  Based on the phone calls, create a short list of attorneys to contact later should you need to.

It cannot be stressed enough that your repair paperwork must be impeccable.  It must be complete, including date, cost (broken down into labor, parts, taxes), problem needing repaired, and mechanics summary.  Make several copies of all estimates and final repair receipts.  Keep the originals in a safe place and take those plus extra copies to court should you end up there.

If the final repair does not solve the problem, contact the first attorney on your list. Go in person for a free initial consultation with the attorney.  If you are not satisfied they can help you win, then move onto the second on your list.  Time is of the essence, as you must start your case within the time frame described in the statutes.  You should not need to interview more than three lemon law attorneys to get started.

Plenty of consumers have won their AZ Lemon Law cases with the help of an Arizona Lemon Law Attorney.  Have confidence – much depends on how good your paperwork is.
